The Story Behind Our Mission

Over the last five months, we have distributed over 1,500 journals to children between the ages of 10 and 17 as part of our effort to support their emotional awareness journey. These were simple paper journals , but they made a real, grounded impact on the emotional development of the children, many of whom were struggling before we met them.

“We didn’t just hand them out and walk away. We followed up through multiple sessions, and what we saw moved us. They were writing. They were opening up.”

What We Discovered

Through our research and pilot programs, we identified three key challenges children face when journaling.

Through our research and pilot programs, we identified three key challenges

children face when journaling.

Getting Started

Many children didn’t know how or where to begin their journaling journey, leaving them unsure of how to use the tool effectively.

Inconsistent Engagement

Some children would start writing but then stop along the way, they struggling to maintain a consistent journaling habit.

Lack of Differentiation

The journals felt too similar to regular notebooks, making it harder for children to see them as something special or unique.

project #1

The New Interactive Journal

New Interactive Journal With support from mental health professionals and educators, we're creating a new kind of journal interactive, intuitive, and supportive. It's designed to gently guide children through their emotions, encourage self-reflection, and make it easier to express feelings even for those who struggle to find the right words. The best thing is, with just Six Thousand Naira (#6000) you can empower the life of a young child with a tool that will change their lives.

Emotional Guidance

Guides children in understanding and expressing feelings with ease.

Inclusive Design

A Braille version is being developed so visually impaired children are not left behind.

More Than a Notebook:

It’s a companion for children on their path of emotional growth.

Help Us Unlock 150 Stories of Healing

Did you know that in Sub-Saharan Africa, about 14% of people live with a mental health disorder at some point in their lives, yet the vast majority receive no formal treatment? In Nigeria alone, recent studies estimate that more than 20% of adolescents have reported depressive symptoms, and around 7% have considered suicide. These numbers highlight a serious gap between need and access to mental health care. At Glory Lucas Foundation, we believe no one should be left without help. That’s why we’re launching an initiative to provide 150 individuals with free access to therapy, giving them a safe space to heal, learn, and thrive. But we can’t open these doors alone. With your support, we can break the barriers to mental health care and make therapy a reality for those who need it. Join us in making mental health care accessible. Your donation is more than a gift, it’s a lifeline for someone’s future.
